Concern Over Agricultural Odors Is Nothing To Sniff
At…
Feedlots:
In
recent years, feedlots, also known as concentrated animal
feeding operations (CAFOs), have become prominent in
agricultural law as 44 of the 50 states have
regulations that deal directly or indirectly with odors
from CAFOs. Nuisance lawsuits can threaten the survival
of feedlot operations and livestock producers can control
the evolution of odorous compounds with the correct
ratio of AG-ODOR Orange Juice in their spray system
operations.
Rendering
plants (i.e.-slaughter-houses):
According
to the National Renderers Association, the rendering
industry recycles approximately 36 billion pounds of
inedible animal by-products each year that produces
malodors. This has prompted communities located near
rendering plants to call for more stringent odor control
measures. AG-ODOR Orange Juice is the odor-masking agent that
eliminates this problem.
Poultry
farms:
Livestock
and poultry producers are becoming concerned about the
odors that are generated from their operations including;
manure storage systems, deep pits in pig barns, earthen
basins on dairy farms, and solid manure packs in poultry
barns. The impact of odors on their neighbors and on
their own family and employees is forcing some producers
to consider odor-control technologies; AG-ODOR Orange
Juice is an ideal solution.
Swine
facilities:
Odor
nuisance has become a major problem in the swine industry.
As swine facilities become larger and more odoriferous,
local economies, property values and community dynamics
are often adversely affected. Foul-smelling dust plays
a major role in the spreading of odor and AG-Odor Orange
Juice is rapidly becoming recognized as an effective
solution.
Sludge-ponds:
Environmental
wastewater problems occur in many municipalities and
AG-ODOR Orange Juice is one of the new technologies
used to regulate this livestock operational problem.
Animals are housed in raised facilities where their
waste is transferred to a sludge-pond that creates odors
in the barn and surrounding communities. The waste
of the sludge-pond is sucked dry and transported via
agricultural tankers with pneumatic sprayers that spray
the sludge on field crops. AO Orange juice can be mixed
right in the sludge or the spray tanks to eliminate
the odor.
